Leadership

6Bridges is a model which can be taught to leaders within a school structure, and can then be used to help resolve differences between staff, or remove systemic problems within the school. 6Bridges does not require wholesale changes, and is designed to work with different generations of teachers. Essentially, 6Bridges establishes a simple, common language to measure differences – both positive and negative. Where problems exist, we first identify which bridge is contributing to the conflict, and then deal directly with ways of repairing it. Once identified, support can be put in place to bring about positive resolutions. We have found that many conflicts in school or business environments are caused by incorrect identification of the problem. It is often easier for an outsider to see which bridge is causing the conflict, but experienced teachers can learn the basics to improve their identification skills.

Bridge 5 is a major influence on the way a school operates, and as a leader within the school, you will contribute to the systems that make life easy (or hard) on your fellow staff. While new teachers often struggle with Bridges 2 and 3, small improvements in Bridge 5 can reduce their stress significantly.

Our workshops are generally held in major centres or capital cities. They start at 9:30 and finish around 3:30 with 45 minutes for lunch, and regular breaks. The cost for the day is generally $280 per person, and includes a copy of 6Bridges to Effective Teaching, refreshments and a catered lunch.
